Empire State of Mind

Here’s a quick stop motion video my good friend Anthony Errisuriz and I put together using the Empire State Building from the Lego Architecture series. This 25 second video is a prime example of someone having too much free time. I spent about an hour hand cutting out each letter with an X-acto knife and nearly 8 hours spanned over 3 days shooting photographs of them. After several trial and error runs that ended in frustration I was finally content with the photos. The video consists of 213 photos and was brought to life by Anthony using Adobe After Effects. The model itself consists of 77 pieces and on measures only 3.1 inches in height.
