Chit Chat with Shepard Fairey

By now I’m sure most of you have seen or heard about the Obey murals being painted around Dallas by Shepard and his minions. Well last night he did a free public Q&A at the Dallas Contemporary and I stopped by to hear what he had to say. Can’t really hate on the guy. He does his thing and does it big all around the world.

My favorite quote of the night went something to the tune of: (Not his EXACT words, sue me)

…people go over some of my work but it’s okay because I’ll go back and fix it then travel to 10 other places they’ll never go to and get up hundreds of times.

With the completion of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in March along with Fairey’s mural focus area, West Dallas is on the rise. This part of town is due for a major face lift and these two are a great beginning.
